Spotted a glowing white ball in the sky west of my house around 9:30 pm several weeks ago. it traveled to the east in a straight line. made no sound. no idea how big or how small it was since i had no point of reference. to me it looked like a soccer ball. it was a dark night as there were clouds in the sky and they blotted out any stars, so it probably could have been anywhere from 2,000 to 10,000 feet up. no this could not be venus. and venus does not travel that fast. for a upo it did not do any type of fancy maneuver, in fact i would say based on seeing piper cub planes fly over head it probably wasn't doing anything in excess of 100 mph. before it made it to the eastern horizon i managed to run inside and grab my binoculars thinking i could debunk this thing quickly. all i saw with the binoculars was a brilliant white light, just like you see on tv. last night i made a bathroom run around 4:00 am. looked outside my bedroom window and there in the east, just hovering there above the tree line was what appeared to me to be the same object i saw several weeks ago. point of reference, i live in what is considered a rural community and there are transmission lines running from west to east behind my house. there is a water treatment plant nearby that probably requires a great deal of electricity to run its pumps.
