Clouds had cleared, so my girlfriend and i were looking up at stars. we were not high or drunk! we were looking toward the southern sky and up (from the upper balcony of our beach house). after 10 minutes, we saw an object that had at least three lights move from east to west very smoothly, quickly and silently; lasted approximately three seconds and then disappeared (into light pollution toward north myrtle beach? unsure). elevation was difficult to ascertain, as was size. it was almost quasi-stealth/transparent. it was difficult to tell if there was a solid object between the three lights, but it seemed so (lights seemed to move in unison like locked around an object, too). it moved so smoothly with no sound. if it was low, how did it not make sound? if it was distant, how did it move so quickly? knowing how quickly small planes (like cessnas) move in the distance (from sight and having flown in them extensively myself), the object moved at least at hundreds of knots. i have never seen anything like this. nor has my girlfriend. but i grew up in and have worked for years in north carolina. i've been coming to sunset beach since 1986, and i have been around military aircraft plenty, seeing them plenty in eastern nc when i did marine science work (undergrad and grad at unc-chapel hill). this was different. i have been over this countless times. this was like something from a movie or tv show but before our eyes. three lights (maybe around a solid object), kind of transparent, moving smooth and fast east-to-west. i know planes, stars, etc. this was different. please feel free to contact me, especially if you can tell me if anyone else saw anything. i will be here through 9/18/2020 and then return to charlotte. thank you.
