I was sitting outside, enjoying the night, casually watching the sky. ocasionally searching for satellites through binoculars, was looking at eastern sky, i noticed something "eclipsing" a bright star. i managed to find it with binoculars, and to follow its path. initally, i thought it was an aircraft. as it passed overhead, i realized it was not. there were no "green and red" marker lights that an aircraft has. it did not have "wings, body and tail" of an aircraft. there was no sound. it was triangular, dark colored, about the size of a cessna 172 at altitude of 2000 to 3000 ft. if a cessna cruises at 140 mph, then this was going about 180 mph - faster, but not fast. there were 3 lights visible, but, unlike published photos of "triangles", these lights were not bright. they were very soft and barely visible. without the binoculars, i doubt that i would have seen it. (fyi - binoculars were zeiss 8x60) this object was in view for only about 60 - 90 seconds before i lost it behind trees.
