My fiance and i were stargazing in southern california and we both noticed a commercial plane above us that drew our attention southeast at a small star-sized ball that was moving in a downward trajectory. as we watched it move slowly downward, it stopped and slowed a few times, and every few seconds flashed brightly (white/blue or yellowish flashes). then it stopped, appeared to split into two crafts, then into three (in a row), and all then flashed simultaneously two or three times. then suddenly the left object shot to the left and disappeared from sight, and within a few seconds, the right one was gone as well. the middle object continued to move slowly back and forth after this, and continued west and downward at different speeds. it changed direction twice, and slowed down, sped up, and flashed a few more times before going lower than our street's treeline... in the past few weeks, we have been seeing more and more of these flashing lights in the temecula night sky, and have began trying to observe at least one every night (as well as meteors and shooting stars as usual).
