I was looking out my picture window at the mountains a little after 6 am in the morning. i immediately noticed what i thought (at first) was venus...But venus is an evening star this time of year i believe. by the time i realized that, the "star" moved off straight up and was out of sight in less than 2 to 3 seconds. i knew it couldn't be a shooting star as it was hovering at first before it moved out of sight. i say it looked like venus since it was extremely bright and had a steady light (as planets don't twinkle like stars since they reflect, not generate, light). the horizon above the mountains was just beginning to brighten with the approaching dawn and a waning moon was beginning to set in the west but was still very bright. the temperature was around 38 degrees and the air was clear and still. this has some similarities to 2 previous sightings i've had in the past few years. one sighting was of a star like object at about the same place but earlier in the morning and was reddish colored. the other sighting i actually took several photographs of and submitted them to mufon. it was up in the mountains above asheville, north carolina of an extremely bright, hovering star like object that was seen in broad daylight by a great many people....This current sighting resembled what i saw by location (above the mountains out my picture window) and in appearance (bright, star like object). both previous sightings were reported to mufon.
