My wife and I were sitting in the truck looking out over Denver. We live up in the mountains and have a beautiful view of the Denver skyline at night. The lots up here are 35 acres or larger so the ambient light is minimal. We were talking and my wife points toward Denver. I look up and see a bright almost led looking light traveling north to south at an angle heading awY (south)from us and slightly east. It appeared between Drake, co and pinewood reservoir and disappeared on its way to denver. I wanted to say it was a meteor but it appeared to be moving far too slow, hung around too long, and had an odd bright white almost blue tint to it.. No blinking lights and appeared to be moving faster than anything commercial is flying out there. I was a usaf tacp (91-95) and in training have controlled a10, f16, and older a7 aircraft for close air support missions. The only thing that I could equate this with would be an afterburner burn as the aircraft was flying away from us. However, no sound (and we can hear a long way up here) and no signal lights.. it just appeared, we saw it for several seconds, and it was gone. I tried to convince myself of meteor or afterburner.. but I couldn't really convince myself or my wife. Very odd feeling.
