As I was driving from Midland/Odessa through Monahans then turning south off of I20 on a state highway to fort stockton Tx a passanger & myself watched an extreamly bright white ball of light staying what appeared to be stationary in the night sky while bobbing in and out of the clouds or remaining stationary while clouds blew around it on their own. This light was bright enough to reflect off of the clouds around it but was alone in the sky under heavy cloud coverage, all while never appearing to change possition as a drove straight for 60 plus miles on I20 for about an hour. My passanger never stopped watching the light & though I was driving was able to keep it in sight as it was northwest and in my driving line of sight. At the point where I turned off of I20 to head south the light was now going to be behind us but once we passed under the I20 underpass the object was nolonger visable at all even though the same patch of sky was easly seen for a long time after turning south. This object was so bright that when it was fully covered by clouds I was still able to see its light glowing from behind the clouds & it lit up a very large area of the clouds allowing me to see them moving clearly around the light this object also moved up & down seeming to want to stay right at the edge of the clouds as they blew around. There were absolutly no other stars the whole night before or after seeing this light. After heading south for a few minutes there was nothig else to see and we went on.
