Driving home, in the dark on a country road, and a light appeared out of no where in the sky. Not too high up, definitely much lower than cloud coverage. I first thought it was a falling star but falling stars don't fall straight down and the light just appeared. Every fallen star I've seen has shot across the sky. This did not. It fell straight down. It took about 3 seconds from the time the light appeared until the time it fell past the tree line and I could not see. I was waiting to hear an explosion or see some sort of light from a crash. I was thinking by this point some sort of aircraft had fallen. But when I rounded the corner about 10 seconds later I couldn't see anything. No explosion. At this point I tried telling myself this wasn't real and tried to give a good explanation as to what it was. I still have no idea. It was orb like, oval, mainly bright white with a little blueish green at the bottom. It wasn't flashing, it was a constant white but it almost flickered. Like when a lightbulb is about to burn out or lose power. If I were to guess, I'd say the light appeared about as high as a skyscraper and fell in a straight line in under 3 seconds. I've been curious all day and have wanted to check out the area in which I saw it fall. But I'm still having a hard time wrapping my mind around what I saw.
