UFO Sighting in Birmingham, Alabama on July 4th 2015 – object ascended, hovered for a second, flew east, changed direction of flight path several times and hovered a few times before jetting off into distance

July 4th 2015, Birmingham, Al about 8:45 pm central time several spectators were gathered for the nights firework show " Thunder on the Mountain" near Vulcan park that was scheduled to start at 9 pm, several people shouted to look to the west of our direction and I turned to see something that appeared to be disk shaped with flashing white, red, and green lights ascended as if taking off. Once the object reached about 20 degrees on the western horizon it stalled and hovered for about one second, the object then moved east, turned south , then back north and at this point jetted away into the distance. The movement was not like any aircraft I have ever witnessed as a civilian or at any point during my time in the military. The entire city of Birmingham had their eyes to the sky that evening and I am sure there are way more witnesses that seen this object, but I can not assure anyone knew what they were seeing or if they even was paying attention as it was not quite time for the fireworks to begin yet. I know for a fact at least 10- 20 people saw this that was in my area, as I was not the first to spot this object I tried to get to my camera in time but it was gone by then.
