UFO Sighting in Erie, Pennsylvania on June 30th 1964 – just could not believe it but had 4 other seen it 2 were police officer

the day before the sighting in our new paper they had a story about a truck driver seeing a UFO in a field along enter state 90 they said he seen a helicopter along interstate 90 my uncle said a truck driver would not stop his rig to look at a helicopter .witch makes since.the next evening our friends came over with there 5 week old daughter.Fred went out in the kitchen to pour a cup of coffee .when he notice a strange light my back yard. he call me .the light looked like a light bulb. then all of a sudden the light took shape of a saucer. Fred and i went outside . we watch it u could see like a ring of fire around the outside of it, i then went in and called the police station . when i called them they said was this a prank. i said no my name is James ball i live in the Evans estates.witch is less then a mile from the station. i then went and got my deer rifle went back outside and watch it with a 4 power scope. the police come running my drive way the one cop had machine gun not sure what the had. he said to me. did you shoot at it. i said hell no i was in the navy.this rifle would not knock it out the air.the cop took my rifle and he watch it, it then went up and headed north toward the lake the police follow it. fred an i follow the police down to the beach. it went out over the lake it hover then it look like a light came out of the bottom of it toward the water it look like the water spun up to ship. light went out. in about 3 seconds it headed out over the lake toward canada and was gone. next day in the new paper that mill creek couple seen a weather blimp from new York. 2 days later air force called me.made appointment to see my wife and me, they came to my house 2 Air Force cars pull up in front of my house they come and interduce them selfe. the first thing they asked us was our religion I do not know what religion has to do with it. then they showed us a book.asked us witch one we seen. I pointed it out. I said if that ship ours why our we spending all the money to send a rocked to Venus next month. They did say they were UFO from space. and never heard from again Mr James Ball
