UFO Sighting in Fort Lenordwood Army basi, Missouri on November 23rd 1979 – Flying cigars or spears jerking around.

I was in basic training in Fort Lenordwood Mo.Army base in November of 1979 I remember because it was around Thanksgiving and me and my partner were on guard duty in a place that the drill Sargent called the million dollar hole in was a open pit mine not sure what they mined there. I think it was for training the heavy equipment operators for graders. Me and my partner were just talking about I looked out the guard shack and seen these cigar or spear shaped things moving really eratic in the sky over the pit mine. There were about 4-5 of them and they had like flutuating lights that were green ,red and orange and the lights were moving on the cigar shaped things like the band on both ends. And we could not believe how fast they were moving. And I remember that if I moved towards them they would come closer to me. It was just unreal. We were both freaked out. But we knew that if we reported them we would be put in the looney bin hospital. So that why we never reported them and we knew that they were not jets or anything of this planet. Thats about all I can remember. Hope it helps PS these things were in a deep pit mine so we knew that they couldn't be seen on radar
