Black Triangle Sighting in Escondido, California on March 1st 1996 – Triangular shape with a Y of whites lights in the middle and colored lights towards the edges. Hovered for about 30 minute the instantly disappeared

I was watching TV late one evening. I lived in a very isolated farm area with no visible neighbors. I noticed lights out my window which appeared to be on a brush covered hill. I thought it was a truck off roading and watched for a bit. It didn't move so I stepped outside to get a better look. It was a triangular shape with a Y of white lights and various colored lights towards the edges. It was clearly not a truck so I guessed it was an airplane. It was strange looking so I kept staring at it to confirm it was a plane by seeing it pass by. It just seemed to be stationary so I went and grabbed binoculars. I clearly saw the triangular shape and it seemed to be about 30 feet off the ground about half a mile away. I still thought it was just a plane coming straight towards me so it appeared to be hovering. the size of the triangle didn't change and after 30 minutes it clearly wasn't an airplane. I felt scared and it kinda seemed to be observing me since there aren't any other homes near by. I turned and talked with my mother a bit then looked back and it was gone, nowhere in the sky. I clearly saw something hovering about 30 feet off the ground that had an unusual series of lights that disappeared in an instant. I have shared this with a few people but I don't really like to talk about it. I believe it was something beyond current man's ability.
