UFO Sighting in York, Pennsylvania on May 16th 2001 – A brilliant,pure white light projected toward the house..

My then partner and I were awoken by a brilliant, pure white light, apparently projected toward our house from a southerly direction. The light was painful to look at, but was stationary, with no attendant sounds, as would be expected from a helicopter or similar. As the light was already there when awoken, I would not know how long it lasted, but we observed it for some 10 to 15 minutes. It then abruptly extinguished. Afew minutes after, a metallic scraping could be heard, as in someone dragging an old metal gate or door shut. This sound lasted only 3 or 4 seconds, but repeated IDENTICALLY several times more, but the noise was receding into the distance, and climbing at the same time. There was absolute silence apart from this. My partner commented that the light had appeared again two or three nights later, but I did not observe it myself. We were mystified by this occurence, and I felt a bit aprehensive for a few days, but not in a serious way. It was forgotten, as my partner and I split up shortly after this event, and it is only with the realisation that what was experienced that night does not make much sense that I felt it time to add to the evidence pile!
