I’ve been an amateur astronomer for 30+ years. I’ve published articles in magazines, and guest lectured at a University. I also independently discovered several previously unknown star clusters, which are included in the catalog contained within the book “Star Clusters”, published by Willman Bell, Inc.

It’s NOT a shadow cast on the Moon… it’s a silhouette of probably a balloon in Earth’s atmosphere. It appears dark because it was at night (the balloon is not illuminated by sunlight), AND by contrast with the Moon’s bright (read: sunlit) surface.

This is most probably a balloon, either weather sounding or a more common helium balloon. The shape is pretty much spherical, and appears to distort sometimes because of atmospheric turbulence. The path across the moon changes about halfway through because of changing upper wind direction as the balloon ascends.

no shadow on the surface…bullshit video…fake

Hmm… Lurch1962 what is your scientific background? Just asking… before I comment.
I just want to know what level of knowledge I’m dealing with here.

It possibily a shadow of spacecraft! the speed is slow and move in regular route!!
Comment by chanpunkit — November 24, 2007 @ 1:12 pm
Oh cmon. Think about how easily someone could fake this. Aparently someone confessed to a technique like this. Something to do with cigar burns or something
Lurch1962 you gave probably the most exact definition.
Some calculations gave the result of a medium balloon (15-20 inches diameter) floating at 20.000 ft. (it is possible) The change of direction is appearent because of the motion of the moon in the sky. Subtracting the balloon motion from the moon motion shows that the balloon simply slow down in the same direction.

For 13 years I worked for Environment Canada as a weather technician/weather station manager. Part of our duties was the launching of sounding balloons to measure the speed/direction of winds aloft. Needless to say, I’ve observed the changing path a balloon will follow as it ascends many thousands of feet.

This is a mosquito flying in front of the satellite LOL

When it passes over a crater, the shadow does not deform as I expect it would.

Its clearly a bug, because of the shaddow doesn’t go into craters and the speed is like a walking bug’s:D So to all “truthseekers”, Get a life
