Adam Gabbatt, in an article about the withholding of evidence of the existence of unexplained anomalous phenomena (UAPs) by the US government, interestingly notes that the term “UAP” is preferred to “UFO” by “much of the extraterrestrial community” (US urged to reveal UFO evidence after claim that it has intact alien vehicles, 6 June). Clearly, the Guardian has evidence of the existence of extraterrestrials, and should release that evidence immediately.

• Melanie White describes how persistent offenders who tooted recorders at her school were made to “play the ruler” (Letters, 6 June). I can’t help wondering if this was a core part of the curriculum at Eton College.
