It has been so long ago that i just cannot remember the exact date, but i believe that it was in september 1965. my husband and i were returning home that evening around mid-night and i saw in the distance an extremely bright light. i made the comment to my husband "why doesn't that idiot dim his lights?" it appeared to be in the road. as we drew nearer the lights were so bright that we had to shield our eyes. as we approached we could make out that the object was not in the road but rather hovering over a field across from our home. we pulled into our drive, got out of the vehicle and walked onto the front porch. there we stood agape at the object. it was huge and appeared to be spilling a florescent substance from around its entire body. we were panicked and i suggested calling the military but my husband thought that would be futile. about that time the object shot straight up into the sky at warp speed and within a few seconds it had vanished. the following day we read in our local paper that a law enforcement officer had witnessed the exact same thing that we saw in arizona. the entire event lasted approximately 10 minutes.
