UFO Sighting in Plattsburgh, New York on 1989-08-01 05:00:00 – Glowing object just above treetops

While stationed at plattsburgh air force base, myself and my msgt were sitting in a truck on the flight line when we noticed a round yellow glowing object hovering above the tree line approx 300-500 feet away from us. it almost looked like a flare had been shot into the sky but the object kept its size and shape for 30–60 seconds, then began shrinking , then darted off quickly one direction then another then another before finally extinguishing. we called the airport tower and asked if they had seen anything weird. they answered no they hadn’t . several months later, working the flight line again i noticed a similar object around the same location doing the same thing. however this time i believe the object was a different color...More a greenish
