I was outside with my wife as she was leaving for work when she pointed and asked if something was a plane, then stated it wasn't blinking. it was moving at quite a clip as when she first pointed it was more n and when i spotted it maybe 5 seconds later it was more ne.
it traveled further eastward and then just disappeared. it didn't fade or disappear into the distance. it just ceased to be.
it didn't blink, and no red or green lights like a plane would have. it was silent, a few minutes later i saw a plane in the distance and it was traveling w, and the blinking lights were visible and it was also audible,
it was roughly the size of what a bb held between one's fingers at arms-length.
i did run inside to get my phone but by the time the camera app fired up it was gone. i did check skymap to see if it was the iss or a satellite, and nothing showed. not that i thought it was a satellite as was traveling too fast, and was too large to be a space object like a satellite, but i wanted to rule it out.
it looked to be higher than 500 feet but nowhere near high enough to be a passing jet. i even checked the air traffic as soon as i entered my house and the nearest jet was near buffalo, ny and certainly not in my line of sight.
i also checked sites that track space objects from the iss to space junk and nothing was traveling in that direction. the nearest satellites were over the middle of the atlantic and detroit, moving se, and even if visible would have been pinpricks in the sky.
