This was about 10 years ago; we thought of reporting it at the time but it seemed more difficult to report back then for some reason. It might be useful information. It was a very clear sunny summer day, not a cloud in the sky (I don't remember the month) at approximately 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. My boyfriend and I were coming out of Central Park in New York City and had crossed Central Park West to the northwest corner. We looked up to say what a beautiful day it was and then noticed objects way, way, way up in the sky, all in a straight line, 6 to 10 individual round objects, like tiny balloons, just sitting there with equal space between each object, in the northwest sky over Central Park. They weren't crowded together but all looked very comfortably placed. They were each a different color and seemed to shine/sparkle somewhat and they looked like primary colors but other colors too. I remember thinking it was odd to be able to distinguish any color of something that was so far away. We immediately looked around us and saw that many people were all looking up at the same thing and were visibly perplexed. I would say most people kept looking up for at least a full 5 to 10 minutes or so but the objects just stayed still. We walked away wondering what we were looking at, when they had gotten there and how long they would stay there. The objects seemed imposing and it was unsettling to think that they could be really, really large objects that looked like specs because they were so far up in the atmosphere. The colors were pretty to look at against the blue sky but it felt like a disquieting experience and we felt helpless at not knowing what the objects were. Maybe other people reported this too.
