My boyfriend and I went out to our back deck for a smoke at about 9:16pm on the evening of April 16th, 2016 in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada. We always look up at the sky to watch for moving star-like objects facing approximately 42 degrees NE. Tonight, after about a minute of being outside, we both looked up and saw a large brightly glowing yellow-orange light coming from the East. It just looked like your average star, but orange in colour and about 10 times the size. We watched as it slowly and steadily went left across the sky until it was directly in front of us, where it stopped and hovered, unwavering, with a steady glow, for about 2-3 minutes. Then we noticed it had started moving again, but straight forwards and slightly increasing it's elevation. It must have been traveling at high speeds because it did not take long for the object to gradually fade and then get smaller and smaller until you had to struggle and look off to the side in order to see the tiny speck. Then it was gone. We finished out smokes and went back inside. It was about 9:30pm at that point.
