UFO Sighting in New York, New York on August 31st 1984 – Point of light hovering above building across the street from my window sweeps left then zooms quickly right and disappears

I was looking out the window waiting for my mom to come back from the corner store. I look at the building across the street and see a yellow point of light hovering above it parallel to me. I watch it for what felt like a couple of minutes. It then makes a sweeping movement to the left, and quickly zooms to the right disappearing into the far horizon. I had no idea what a UFO was, so I had no point of reference. I had not started Kindergarten yet and was very young. I never forgot the incident. My frame of reference came later after a few more sightings, sleep paralysis, an abduction experience , and other odd paranormal events. I didn't tell my mom at the time because I didn't know the event was significant.
