Me and a few mates were chilling in the park just after midnight, we always went there after work as it was the middle point for all our homes, we'd have a cigarette, then head off our seperate ways.
One of my mates pointed somebody out who was in the bushes, watching us.
We all thought it was a pervert or something & started throwing stones at it/ him. (We were all young & yobbish at the time)
We watched as this thing slowly crept out the bushes towards us. It was crouching over slightly, it was a silvery, shimmering colour, but it also appeared to be glowing. It had extremely long, gangly, arms which it used to move the bushes to get out, it wasn't touching the bushes as they moved though. As it got out of the bushes, it fully stood up & was at least 8 foot tall & it's arms stretched down to where a persons knees would be, really long arms. Couldn't really distinguish any facial features as it was dark & I was hypnotized by those extremely long arms.
There was only one thing going through my head as I watched this thing for a minute or two, RUN! My fight or flight instincts properly kicked in & I totally feared for my life. Being a young yob though, my decision was always based on what my mates would do... I turned to them but they weren't there, they had already ran off. I took another look at this thing & it was a step or two closer, less than 15 feet away from me. I never ran so fast in my life. I didn't look back through fear of how fast the thing could move, I just didn't want to be the last person in the group. I have never been so scared in my life. None of us stopped running for a while, we ran all the way down the Lichfield Road & all the way to New Cross Hospital. We needed to be around people, to feel safe.
We went back the next day as I'd lost my phone & keys as I ran off. We investigated the area in the bushes where we saw it, the bushes had a metallic type of smell & they all looked 'off'.
I have never been back to that park/ field since.
