It was about 2 A.M. and I had just returned upstairs to try to sleep after some prior hours of tossing and turning in bed. I was just getting in bed when startled by a very bright white light coming down from the skylight above my bed. I looked up and was able to discern what appeared to be the underneath of a large object with five large white lights. It took up more than a quarter of the width of the skylight and was shaped like an octagon. It appeared to be flying low, perhaps no more than two to five hundred feet above the house. I was able to clearly see the positioning of the lights with one in the middle and the remaining four positioned adjacent to the four corners of the octagon. They appeared large and were the same size. They were very bright and very white. The object made almost no noise at all except for a small sound emanating from within it. I am unable to describe the sound easily or with any degree of accuracy except to state what it did not sound like. The noise a helicopter airplane or drone would not come close to describing this sound.
There was no time to take a picture or video as the whole incident only lasted the few seconds it took for the object to fly over my skylight.
