UFO Sighting in Norwalk, Ohio on October 10th 2015 – Solid, very bright red light that approaches and the disappears

- in UFO Reports
Driving home from dinner with my two sons, as I neared my house, I noticed a solid bright red light approaching from the South. I pulled into my driveway, immediately go out of my van and observed the light continue to approach from the South in a N-NE direction. The light was solid. This was NOT airplane navigation lights. I've seen thousands, maybe tens of thousand of navigation lights and anti-collision lights, no blinking or strobe-ing at all - this was completely solid and unusually bright. I observed the light for approximately one minute, during which one of my sons exited the van, joined me and also observed the light. As it approached, it faded out. I continued to scan the sky and listen for the sound of a prop plane or jet engine for approximately 5 more minutes and heard nothing. This is the third time I have witnessed a similar event. The two previous times the light was traveling West to East, was solid red and disappeared as it approached. No sound was heard with either of the two previous sightings. I enjoy astronomy as a hobby and spend many evenings out with my telescope. I can identify Venus, Jupiter, etc... (when they are visible) by sight. I enjoy spotting meteors and have on several occasions spotted the ISS as it orbits over. I am also a civilian aviation and military enthusiast and am very familiar with the aircraft that regularly fly overhead. I can tell the difference between a SWA 737-300, C-130's flying out of the 179th in Mansfield, the LifeFlight based in Avery and a FedEX MD-11 on approach to CLE. Please believe me when I tell you this is not any of those, its something unusual.
