On the evening of the event, I had been in the garden with my telescope and due to poor seeing, decided to pack up around 10.45pm. As I was dismantling my mount, I noticed in the distance on the eastern horizon, a strange coloured light heading towards my direction. At first I thought that it may have been a Chinese lantern, but all of a sudden, the light changed shape, and before I knew it, it was nearly above me. All I could see of the object, was like a pencil line outline. Coloured a golden, bright distinctive shape similar to a triangle, but more rounded. When the object past into the west, the object just completely blew me away with the speed it changed direction. Still heading west, it went at a 90 degree angle up into space and was then no longer visible.
