UFO Sighting in Ottawa, Ontario on October 3rd 2015 – Red flashing lights with sudden change of directions. Stationary / accent / descent

We got out for a walk and I noticed a red/orange flashing light in the sky that caught my eye. It was moving extremely fast. Being in Nepean, we see airplanes lights landing at Ottawa airport every nights and I know what they look like. As I am starring at the blinking light, it made a sharp change of direction then stopped. I told my wife and my daughter to look at the red light. Then it started to move right then left then it went down fast and made another complete stop for a few second then down again very fast until we lost sight of if. It looked like an airplane light but did not move at all like any airplane I have ever seen. Airplanes are linear type lights with no sudden change. Military air planes do not move that fast to come to a complete stop and drop again. It was fascinating. Myself, my wife and my daughter all saw this. I hope someone else report the same sighting so we can maybe figure out where it came down. Difficult to estimate distance in the night sky but since I was seeing the blinking red/orange lights, I would guess between richmond and 416. But again.. hard to tell how far. I want to keep my mind open but I can't come up with a rational explanation... I will look at the sky with more interest now!!!
