At approximately 9:15pm July 21st 2015 I was walking on the beach with a new acquaintance. While in the midst of conversation we began to look out over the Gulf of Mexico. Quickly a red-orange orb approximately the size of a dime appeared about 30 degrees above the horizon. The object appeared to be at a great distance away from my location. I initially though it was an airplane yet I questioned the coloration. After about 15-20 seconds a second orb appeared seemingly out of the original object and moved west about 2 degrees then dropped slightly in altitude. I must state that the original object appeared and remained stationary during the entirety of the appearance. At this time my counterpart mentioned the lights without instruction and proclaimed it to be an airplane. Very quickly changing his tune. At once the second orb, though appearing second, began to dissipate and quickly flickered out. The original orb stayed in place for another several seconds and dissipated in the same manner as the other. During this appearance I did notice the familiar flickering of an airplane in the area but nowhere near the orbs. The altitude was significantly higher and did not seem to be in relationship with the objects. We remained on the beach for about 10 more minutes without any further experience. Total elapsed time approximates at 1 minute and 30 seconds, perhaps shorter. Unfortunately I did not have any sort of recording device with me at the time. The objects did not make an audible noise.

  1. Our family was in Panama City Beach, Fl the same week for vacation and saw the same lights on two separate nights around the same time. The first night (7/21/15), we saw the same orbs you described. Then the orbs appeared again the next night around the same time. On the second night, the lights appeared more orange. They appeared and disappeared three times along the horizon approximately 30 – 40 miles apart and then increased altitude for one more appearance before disappearing for the night. It was impossible for them to be the same aircraft on the second night due to the distance and time between appearances of the orange orbs.

  2. I witnessed these orbs exactly as described tonight while watching the meteor shower. There were at least 6 visible in the sky. I witnessed this tonight around 10pm in NJ
