UFO Sighting in Wells, Vermont on July 5th 2015 – Looked at first like a HUGE orange star with some red on top side; stationary, about height of low flying airplane; red appeared to blink (thought it was a plane) then realized it couldn’t be at which point it just got so small, it vanished!

We were traveling home in our car after watching the Women's World Cup game at our daughter and son-in-law's home. I just noticed a bright orange, very large star-like sighting a bit north of us over the Wells Village School soccer field more or less. I said to my husband, WOW, that is so orange, I can't believe it's a star and it's SO BIG! There was a red color on the top of it which appeared to blink a bit, so I thought it might be a plane. We pulled off the road at the school to look at it more carefully, got out of the car and realized it couldn't be a plane...it was stationary and just too star-like and the blinking seemed to stop. As we watched it, it almost seemed as though it was ascending, but we realized that it was just disappearing from our sight....kind of going nowhere, it just vanished. We are 73 years old and it was the strangest sighting in the sky either of us has ever seen! We also thought it could be connected with last night being July 4th and/or the fact that the USA just won the World Cup, but we soon realized it just couldn't be anything "typical" or fireworks-like. It was too motionless and too much like a stationary star that was too big to be a star and bright orange with hints of red.... just nothing we could have made up!
