UFO Sighting in California on July 4th 2015 – Blinking red and green lights about 100ft above. Ascended, met with another craft, traveled together north.

It was about 9:30pm. We were all looking up trying to see fireworks when I saw a red and green flashing object. At first we figured it was a drone but soon realized it was much to high to be one. It was traveling over us when it stopped, changed direction, then began to ascend. As it ascended I noticed what I thought was a star next to it. All of a sudden the "star" began to get closer to the original object. They looked as if they were going to meet. The original object then started to head away from the other object and they both started to travel north. We tried to watch it as long as we could until they were too high for us to see anymore.
