UFO Sighting in Dowagiac, Michigan on July 15th 1968 – Huge dark silent vehicle observed coming from north to south, traveled over our house. Watched for several minutes until we saw it make abrupt directional change to east and took zigzag path at right angles at extremely fast speed.

This took place in Sister Lakes, Michigan in the tricounty area of Van Buren, Berrien and Cass counties; in summer of 1968 or 1969. My older sister and I were saying goodbye to our friends and were standing in our driveway. They left and we watched their car go down the road. We were babysitting our 2 younger sisters while our parents were out on a Saturday night. It was past dusk, not quite completely dark. Our younger sister started yelling franticly out the door for us to look above the orchard. There was a mature cherry orchard across the street, trees about 12-15 feet tall. We looked north toward the orchard and saw a huge dark object silently floating slowly moving from north to south. It had lights or possibly windows that were lighted on the lower part that floated over us. It was so huge that it blocked out the dusky sky, and appeared black or very dark, except for the lights.It seemed at the time it was disk shaped, but it could have been cylindrical. My older sister and I made a quick plan to take our younger sisters and run to the neighbor's house down the street if the vehicle stopped.At that time there were only a couple of houses on our side of the road, spaced far apart. An orchard stretched from the corner of the highway about 1/2 mile to the church. The object continued south and we watched it for quite a few minutes, until we saw it make a jag east, then jag south, then jag east again at a very hight rate of speed and then it was gone. If we hadn't watched it for awhile, I would tend to think it could have been a blimp.
