UFO Sighting in Alton, Illinois on July 3rd 2015 – object moving north to south and stop and hovered then continued moving at high speed

I was standing out on the front porch with a friend of mine watching fireworks from a very far distance all of a sudden I saw a red hovering light come into view intensely bright red after that it stopped like it was almost sneaking up on what it was wanting to look at it Hoverd for a while then went back in the direction that it came at a very high speed. Then the object came back into view on the same path. This time it came in to veiw at the same spot as before stopped on a dime hovered for 45 seconds and then went back the same path that it came and did this 3 different times. I can't belive I was too stupid to not pull out my phone but it was so bright and fascinating by the way it moved I couldn't take my eyes off of it I was afraid I might miss something. It was extremly bright it was on the il side of the mississippi river and went north to south 3 times stopped in the same spot all theee times and travled at a very very high speed ... I compared it to any aircraft I'm familiar with and couldn't it was for sure a ufo!
