UFO Sighting in Pottsboro, Texas on July 5th 1990 – Observed orb shoot comet like beam to ground and then ground to orb

I was camping at the Texas Instruments campground on Lake Texoma with my family. I got up around 2-3 am to use the restroom and observed an orb on the Oklahoma side of the lake at what appeared an inch above the ground. Based on the distance across the lake it was pretty high up. I could see street lights on the other side and watched this orb pulse and what appeared to be "solid light" like a comet shot to the ground. Then a flash on the ground and the same comet like light returned to the craft. It did this several minutes and I woke some other people with me and we all watched this thing for about thirty minutes. It would then shoot a super speeds across the sky diagonally. It was only inches from my perspective but must have been miles on that side. It did the same thing with the pulses and lights. It finally shot straight up into the sky and was gone. That was 25 years ago and I am still in awe of what I saw that night. I worked as a police officer and with the military for many years. I have no idea what I saw but the actions it took with the pulses and the very distinct lights toward the ground and then a pulse and back to the orb have left me dumbfounded.
