coming from food lion down genito going home
solid beam of focus light shining to ground
thought it was a helicopter until noticing that was no spot light
black almost invisible against the sky, blocked out stars behind it
shining a focus beam of light into a field(horse farm)when I noticed it
began to move across my path almost over me.
I was shocked, stunned and scared. being a navy vet(machinist mate, aircraft machinist mate)and a merchant seaman Jr. Engineer(qmed) at the time and been to Hampton University for aviation mechanics I knew it was no helicopter or anything I had seen before(made no noise)I tried to flag some people down driving by but they didn't stop so I got back in my car and gave chase watching it till I came to a dead end in the neighborhood where I live, it very slowly and level went out of sight. When I got home I said nothing but my fianc�� asked what happened because of the look on my face and I told her what I had just seen and she laughed so I called my dad(world war 2 vet)and he laughed and they both told me to keep that to myself and I did until now. This wasn't my first time, once when I was in the Navy and that time I wasn't by myself, myself and a friend was getting off mid watch in the north Atlantic and I decided to take a smoke before going to my rack and he waited for me and we seen two very high making zig-zag before zipping off out of sight within seconds. As a merchant seaman I served on oceanographic survey ships. There is more I will not say at this time because I'm confused and afraid to tell for fear of being ridiculed.
