UFO Sighting in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Lab on September 5th 1982 – I was watching what I thought was a boat on the water I was on a road above the boat or above the water and this red light came across the water lifted off the water and shot off into the night in the northwest direction

there was a row directly above the water and I was driving home when I noticed to my right and down below at water level this red orb and I thought it was a directional light for a boat or the report or starboard like which of course it wasn't I thought it was sort of funny because it was moving so fast and then it accelerated to an unbelievable speed came off the water Rose quite high and went off and on northwesterly direction
