UFO Sighting in Sonoma, California on December 24th 2011 – 7 glowing objects thought to be chinese lanterns until they formed lg. dipper star pattern (not the real lg. dipper)
On December 24, 2011 approx. 11:30pm over City of Sonoma, California me and my wife saw floating gold glowing objects directly overhead (over our house). We were setting up our son's new portable Basketball hoop / post assembly at night. We were looking directly overhead building the basketball set. At first we did not know what these 7 lights / globes were (traveling from north to south direction). Later we thought they may have been Chinese lanterns. They seemed to be floating high (approx. 300-500ft) almost dancing overhead until they formed the big dipper star pattern and stayed in that formation until they floated out of site towards southern horizon. At first we joked that just saw ufo(s) and then we just kept sighting to ourselves (until now June 20, 2015). Later we did buy a set of Chinese lanterns and flew them over town at night a year later (2012). They were distinctive lights but did not seem the same as Xmas 2011 ufo(s). Eventually the Chinese lanterns that we bought 2012 did burn out at 50 feet over our neighborhood. I was watching Mufon - "Hangar One" program on History Channel and decided to finally to set it to record.
