UFO Sighting in Borrego Springs, California on November 15th 1958 – It was a large white glowing rectangular that after a short time shot straight up.

It was around 1958, we were living in Anza Borrego State Park. My father was a state Ranger and I was in high school. We were returning home from Borrego Springs late at night back to our home in Tamarisk Grove. On the drive home off towards the mountains, approximately 2 to 3 miles away, was a large rectangular glowing white object, that was either on the ground or just over the ground. After only a few seconds it took off straight up and was gone. I asked rest of the family if they had seen it also but no one did and my father said it was probably just headlights from a car. I knew this was wrong because there was no roads towards the mountains in that area. During this timeframe there have been reports of landings of cigar box shape glowing light objects at several locations in Southern California. I never brought it up again but I know what I saw that night. Keep up the good work, someday will know for sure. James L Forsyth
