UFO Sighting in Smithland, Kentucky on October 7th 1989 – round pulsating amber colored globe followed by what looked like 2 jet fighters .
this was back in the late 80' , 88 to 92 I believe . I was standing out in the back yard and noticed a round amber colored globe , going up the Tennessee river in the distance , running directly beside Calvert City Kentucky in a west northwesterly direction . As soon as it passed i saw what looked like two Jet fighters trailing behind the globe , approximately 1 mile behind . the next morning on the today show they reported an explosion somewhere in the northwest woods without a specific cause as I remember . I figured they shot it down . I have tried to look up the story and the explosion in the northwest woods but to date have been unable to find any mention of it . I didn't know what it was then and still don't but this took place 60 to 75 miles north of Fort Campbell Ky . I was amazed to see it and still feel that way . It wasn't much more than tree top level maybe 500' at the maximum . I watched it till I couldn't see it as it flew out of my range maintaining level unchanging slower flight like they were looking around .
