UFO Sighting in New York, New York on June 13th 2015 – Bright red diamond shaped object emitting fire balls or sparks at high altitude.

At approximately 11:05 pm EST, while sitting in my back yard at the fire, a very bright red diamond shaped light in the eastern sky caught my attention. At first I thought it was the landing light to an air craft and was waiting for it to roar over head. But after it cleared my neighbors tree, it was apparent that this object was at a high altitude. It made no sound. At about 10 second intervals, the object was emitting what looked like sparks or small balls of light that would last only about a half second. These emissions left no trail behind it. I went in the house and got my wife and son who came outside and also witnessed what was happening. I then went back into the house to get a camera. I came out of the front door which faces west and the object wasn't there. I went to the back of the house where my wife was still watching in. She pointed that it was heading towards the north and was above a narrow strip of clouds that I estimate to be at about 3,000 feet. By then it was out of view. But we saw the cloud light up twice as the object was still emitting its sparks. After that, we could no longer see it. I made the observation and confirmed it with The Weather Channel that the band of clouds in my area were moving south east, yet this object was traveling north west. I have ruled out any sort of balloon or Chinese lantern that could do this. The size, (about twice the size of the North Star) brightness and slower speed made me think that it was in our atmosphere.
