I have witnessed this many times. Star like object but it acted strange. It seemed to dip and it gets real bright then less bright, almost flashing. Gets brighter as it dips through the sky. Crossed the entire sky in less than a minute. The first few times I saw these I thought they were a star that got bright and flashed out but since then I have been keeping my binoculars and found that they keep going after they get real bright.
