In 1974 NASA and Carl Sagan beamed an encoded message into space from the Arecibo telescope in Puerto Rico. The encoded message detailed some basic information about humanity: our number system, DNA structure (well, maybe that’s not so basic), average height, which planet we inhabit, etc. Much later, on August 14, 2001 a crop formation appeared in Britain that was unlike any other before it. It looked like a jumbled mess. That is, until the setting sun caused shadows within the crop circle to reveal that it was actually a face.
But it wasn’t until three days later that another stunning formation appeared in the vicinity of the face formation that appeared to be some sort of encoded data strip. In fact, it was the same encoded message Carl Sagan had sent back in 1974 except with some interesting changes depicting a very non-human, non-Earth sender.
A year later, nearly on the same day, another formation appears depicting an obviously alien face and a circle with another code within in. When deciphered, the message in the circle says the following:
Beware the bearers of false gifts and their broken promises. Much pain but still time. There is good out there. We oppose deception. Conduit closing.
