I was 18 at the time. i was on a hunting trip with my dad and two friends. We started the trip early. We drove up 154 then turned left on west camino cielo. Windy road took some time get to Refugio Canyon. When we did, we ran into a buck. Following it for a short time then stoped That is when we separated.They wanted to go back and look for the buck. I went walking down the road. That is when I hear a swish sound to my left.I see a cigar shaped object 100yards away going 25 mpr silver color coming up from the canyon it went down the canyon over the free way into the channel took a left turn down the channel. There was low fog over the free way and the channel. I was high above the fog and it was clear. We were not far from Vandenberg Air Force Base I thought it was some sort of a new guided missile because it was going so slow.
