UFO Sighting in Las Cruces, New Mexico on July 18th 1976 – A shape came fast over the mountain; hovered, flashed the took off back over the mountain. we lost 45 min of time

Me and a friend were driving from Las Cruces to El Paso, about 45 min one way. Half way there we saw something bright like a star shoot over the mountain and hovered. We got out of the car watched it for several minutes then there was a flash and a small object dropped down to the ground then this thing took off and shot back over the mountain out of site. This object was a couple of miles away and it made it over the mountain in a fraction of a second. We continued our drive to El Paso, had a coke then drove home. When we got home we realized we had only been gone for 45 minutes. It's impossible to drive round trip in that amount of time. Our ride home was quite and we felt odd the whole way home and when we noticed the time, we felt scared. I've only told a couple of close friends about this for fear of being laughed at.
