UFO Sighting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on May 21st 2015 – Larger that a star or “falling star” quickly descending at an angle to the horizon

I had just stepped outside the front door of my house for a cigarette at approximately 3:30 am on Thursday morning. Glancing to my immediate right, I saw a very fast moving falling object. The angle of descent was approximately 40-45 degrees. The object was glowing white with a bluish tinge. The entire event lasted approximately 1/2 of a second. The only reason I am reporting this is because the object itself, though matching the speed, was much larger than any "falling star" I have ever seen (it was about 1/8th the size of the moon) and it had a bluish tinge. The light from the object was very bright as well and seemed to be actually emanating from it. This was unlike anything I have ever seen in the skies above Baton Rouge, LA. The sky was clear and there was no "trail" left behind the object nor any sign, glowing or audible, of a crash when the object disappeared behind the horizon. Seconds later, a white van with no headlights on came rushing onto my street, running a stop sign and driving in the direction of the object. As soon as the van was out of sight (2 seconds later), I heard two metallic hollow sounding crashes, as if a sledgehammer had struck the side of the van. I'm really not sure if this van had anything whatsoever to do with the object, probably not, but thought it odd because the two occurrences happened literally seconds apart from each other. I continued to scan the skies all the while finishing my cigarette. Feeling like I was not going to see anything else, I went back inside and fell back asleep. I have since been checking the internet to see if someone else has reported seeing something similar on the night/morning in question to no avail. Apparently I was the sole witness.
